These three statements are the basis to the prevention of several diseases which kill Oklahomans at an alarming rate; heart disease, obesity, and diabetes.

Healthy Living Program grantees have a primary role of enacting environmental strategies through local policy and ordinances in addition to supporting statewide legislation that creates sustainable change surrounding access to nutritious options, access to physical activity and reducing the use of tobacco.

Gateway and their Prevention staff have gained a credible reputation in the field for providing strong technical assistance and consultation for policy and wellness plan development.
